Purpose:
Liver scans are used to diagnose disorders such as cirrhosis, hepatitis, tumors and other problems in the digestive tract.

Preparation:
No special prep. is required.

Test Procedure:
A tracer is injected into your arm. You will then be asked to lie still on your back while a series of images are taken of your liver and spleen.
