2003 ICANL Accreditation
Nuclear
Medicine of Naples
is proud to announce that we were recently granted accreditation
in both Nuclear Cardiology and General
Nuclear Medicine from the ICANL. Both the downtown and North Naples locations
were approved for this accreditation. We are one of the first nuclear laboratories
in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico to be so recognized for
this accreditation, and one of only 2 facilities in the state
of Florida to receive accreditation in both nuclear cardiology
and general nuclear medicine
Accreditation
status signifies that the facility has been reviewed by an
independent agency that recognizes the laboratory’s
commitment to quality diagnostic testing.
Approval for accreditation is based upon quality of
reports, images, accepted protocols, and qualified staff.
This type of review ensures that our facility has established
and upheld high standards of diagnostic care.
The
ICANL (Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear
Medicine Laboratories) was established with the support of
the American Society of Nuclear Medicine, the Society of Nuclear
Medicine Technologist Section, the American College of Cardiology,
the American College of Nuclear Physicians and the Institute
for Clinical PET. The
ICANL provides a peer review mechanism to encourage and recognize
the provision of quality nuclear cardiology and nuclear medicine
diagnostic evaluations by a process of voluntary accreditation.
A non-profit organization, the ICANL is dedicated to
ensuring high quality patient care and to promoting health
care.
In
operation since 1995, Nuclear Medicine of Naples utilizes
only the latest in technologically advanced nuclear medical
imaging equipment and has earned an excellent standing with
the local community for providing top notch nuclear medicine
and nuclear cardiology services.
